Mission accomplished day one complete. My game plan was to go in and do a tight hour to see what I could get done. I hadn’t worked out at all in a week or regularly at all this month so I was coming in pretty cold.

Started with treadmill to warm up. When I started back it was on the treadmill because that’s what I knew, plus standing on a treadmill and not falling off was accomplishment enough at the beginning. Now I keep the treadmill as my cardio workout. Lately I’ve been committing to a 30 minute/two mile warm-up but I cut it to 15 since this is supposed to be a late night workout and you should be able to rest afterward.
From the warmup I did the leg press. I decided on a Push Day to start my split and I wanted a heavy braced lift now that my lower body was warm from the treadmill. This paid dividends with a PR. Extension felt good, no knee discomfort. Mild back twinge but that’s probably my fault for rushing through the set up on the first set.

Leg press to flat bench barbell press where I am reminded I haven’t done these in a while. Focused on form and completing the sets without cutting my head off. Bench lifts solo in an empty gym mean being very careful with the weight and knowing how to bail — Protip: Don’t use plate clips.
That was an hour total and I got out of there. I had more in the tank because it was the first workout after a week but I’m keeping it for tomorrow. See you then!
